Meat Loaf Delight

Meat loaf delight

1 C minced onions

2 tsps worcestershire sauce

1 tbsp catsup

2 tsps prepared mustard

1 C cheese, cut into very small cubes

3 hard boiled eggs (optional)

salt and pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix all the ingredients except bacon. Line a loaf pan crosswise with the bacon strips. Liliit kasi sila kapag naluto. Pack the meat mixture sa loaf pan. Don’t worry guys, sakto ‘yan.

Pwede ring vienna sausage. But please huwag magtangkang maglagay ng hotdog. Mababaduy ang ating meat loaf🙄

Bake for one hour or until almost done. Get the drippings for the gravy. Ibalik sa oven at itaas ang temperature to 400 degrees.  Cook ten minutes more or until bacon is brown.

Gravy

gravy-2

Meat loaf drippings

2 Tbsps butter

1/2 C flour

1 pc Maggi beef cube (I prefer Maggi to Knorr)

1/2 C milk

2 C very hot water

dash of Worcestershire sauce, Maggi Savor or toyo

Tunawin ang butter with the drippings sa mahinang apoy. Add the flour and use a whisk to mix with butter. Idagdag ang mainit na tubig at gatas unti-unti at haluin every time until there are no more lumps. Add beef cube and the dark sauces for brown coloring. Dagdagan ng hot water kung masyadong malapot. Keep stirring while simmering for a couple of minutes.

*NOTE: Ok lang kung hindi ‘nyo ‘to ma-perfect the first time. Mahirap talaga bumuo ng rue  (butter/flour/water) into a smooth consistency. It takes practice, guys.

Serve meat loaf with buttered (frozen) mixed veggies or buttered Baguio beans.

  1. For my version, I used Dijon mustard or freshly ground mustard. For the veggies, I don’t know if baby lima beans are available in Pinas, I like it better than green peas. (personal preference)

    • Maxi,
Nung nabasa ko ‘tong comment mo, I used what’s in my fridge nung gumawa ulit ako ng meat loaf, honey dijon mustard.
