Sinugba – the Visayan word for inihaw, grilled,  barbeque, kebab

Bangus - Milkfish, ang ating national fish.

Inihaw na bangus - my favorite grilled food.

Pixie’s Sinugba - Inihaw na boneless bangus na walang kaliskis.  May palamang kamatis at sibuyas, may tanglad (lemon grass) sa gitna sabay grilled to mouth-watering perfection. Comes in 3 sizes, large, extra large, jumbo.

Ang “Food  to go” ay isa sa mga food categories sa kusina natin. Ito ay mga pagkaing nabibili sa mga restaurants o specialty food  stores na dapat ay pumasa sa quality control requirements ng mga ina. As if home cooked ang dating nila.

Puwede silang pang-emergency ulam, pang-handa sa unexpected guests at puwedeng-puwedeng isama kahit sa wedding reception menu. These food are the personal pride and joy of the cooks who originally developed them in their own kitchens. But most of them are treasured recipes na minana pa sa mga lola nila.

At ang number one requirement bago sila makapasa? Mura na, masarap pa.

Amber’s Pichi-pichi

Mukha siyang sosyal, 'di ba? Daanin lang sa presentation.

Pichi-pichi is one of my fave kakanin. Hindi siya nakakasawa. You can eat them plain with shredded young coconut or covered with grated cheese. Puwede siyang stand-alone-dessert sa mga parties or part of merienda sienna events.

Mas masarap ang kwentuhan with your friends kung may handang pichi-pichi kasama ng mainit na kape, tsaa o  salabat.

Amber’s is located at Filmore in Makati. Sa P5.00 ang isa a box of 20 pieces will cost you P100. Fair enough price for pichi-pichi na hindi tinipid sa keso.
